PEER REVIEW PROCES

The International Journal of Education and Teaching Zone (IJETZ) applies a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, relevance, and integrity of published research. All manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening are evaluated by two independent reviewers with relevant expertise. The identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout the review process. The peer-review process consists of nine stages. Each manuscript that passes the initial editorial screening is evaluated by two independent reviewers within a maximum period of two months.

1. Manuscript Submission

The corresponding author submits the manuscript through the IJETZ online submission system using the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.

2. Initial Editorial Screening

The editorial team checks the manuscript for compliance with the journal's focus and scope, Author Guidelines, formatting requirements, originality, research ethics, and minimum academic quality standards. Manuscripts that do not meet the essential requirements may be returned to the authors for correction or rejected at this stage. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening undergo a similarity check using Turnitin.

3. Editor-in-Chief Assessment

The Editor-in-Chief or assigned editor evaluates the manuscript's scope, originality, significance, academic quality, and suitability for IJETZ. Manuscripts that are clearly unsuitable for the journal may be rejected without external peer review.

4. Reviewer Selection and Invitation

The handling editor selects two independent reviewers based on their expertise, research interests, academic qualifications, availability, and absence of conflicts of interest. Reviewers are invited to evaluate the manuscript objectively and confidentially.

5. Reviewer Response

Invited reviewers consider the manuscript's subject relevance, potential conflicts of interest, and availability before accepting or declining the review invitation. When necessary, the editor may invite alternative reviewers.

6. Peer Review

Reviewers conduct a detailed evaluation of the manuscript, focusing on originality, theoretical foundation, methodology, analysis, results, discussion, conclusions, references, academic presentation, and overall scholarly contribution. Reviewers provide constructive comments and recommend one of the following decisions: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject

7. Editorial Evaluation

The Editor-in-Chief or handling editor evaluates the reviewers' reports and recommendations. If the reviewers' recommendations differ substantially, an additional reviewer may be invited to provide an independent assessment. The final editorial decision remains the responsibility of the journal's editor.

8. Decision and Revision

The editorial decision is communicated to the corresponding author together with the relevant anonymous reviewer comments. When revisions are required, authors must revise the manuscript carefully and provide a clear response to the reviewers' comments. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers or evaluated by the handling editor, depending on the extent of the revisions.

9. Final Decision and Publication

After the required revisions have been satisfactorily completed, the Editor-in-Chief or handling editor makes the final publication decision. Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting and production before publication. A Letter of Acceptance (LoA) is issued only after the manuscript has successfully completed the required review and revision process and received final editorial approval. Published articles are made freely available online under the journal's open-access policy.

Review Timeline

The IJETZ peer-review process is normally completed within a maximum of three months, although the actual duration may vary depending on reviewer availability, the number and extent of revisions required, and the complexity of the manuscript.
